I have had a few close calls on roofs get's the heart racing!
Ever danced with the devil in the bright sun light?

Working on the roofs for the new project house buildings. It was 7 and 10 pitch we were up 2 floors. We were required by osha to have ropes on and boards at the bottom. We had to install ice and water on the bottom edges, so we had to pull the boards out to do it this was acceptable by osha. I was over felting a different dormer and ran out of staples so i went to get some. On my way over there I noticed my partner's rope had to much slack on it. I started to pull it my way over the ridge and he stepped on a piece of his rope right as i was telling him he was to loose. He tossed the ice and water and started going, I had his rope wrapped around me by now and braced myself on the board. He grabbed the drip edge it held him for a second. It was the second I needed to pull the rest of the tension out of his rope. He weighed 200 lbs and my lil 105 lb but caught him and held his weight on a 2X4 nailed into the deck to hold the shingles. He swung into a window and unhooked. When we looked where he would have landed it was pretty rough terraine. I don't know how to spell it but rebar was right below where he fell and a bathtub with the built in wall. Would have been nasty.

Rain was coming and we had to go put an emergency tarp on a home. We were in quite a rush. I was bringing the tarp towards the ridge line and it had a second ridge line lower down. I thought I was stepping onto the roof that continued but instead i walked back over the ridge. I started to roll down the roof I hit my back and threw my hands back onto the roof and there were my partner's hands grabing me by the wrist i had his wrist it was the perfect catch. If he wouldn't have caught me I would have landed right on top of a metal fence. Woulda cut me in half.

Last one I was on this 2 story house with one by decking a tree limb had gone through the roof. I was sweeping the deck with the bottom edge to my back. I was only taking one step forward one step back. Not close to the bottom. Well One step back I landed right in the hole the tree limb made. I started to spin around with my leg slamming into the broken wood. I thought I was dead. Then I thought I had a broken leg. I didn't die or break my leg (luck of the irish) I did however get some real nasty cuts and bruises on my leg.
