As I arived home I had to my surprise, had two police cars parked in front of my home..the police were asking my girlfreind a bunch of questions and they thought that she had been dui,, so they told me to walk around the corner as I did , and they ask me if she was on any kind of medication... well yes i told them what I new andf it is all proscribed ,anti depres, and a few others but I wasent sur ewhat exactly what she was taking,, but I know she wasent drunk or abuzing anything because both of us are clean...havent drank in over two years and no pot no percs,,,nothing....well she does have a mouth,,,,and as the officers told us to go inside or we will both be arested,,,, she mumbled,, asswhole and they came running.. i did shut and locked the door just as she said that so what they did was at the same time they said you are under arest, the one cop kicked my door that had the dead bolt locked, open and with a agresive rage was trying to go towards my girlfreind[wife] well because of his angry agresiveness and the fact that he kicked the door in, mind you he busted the door fram,,,I stood in his way and was trying to protect her from the angree cop but that mad ethem both mader.. we all were on the ground. finally the one cop said to me if I dont stop moving , he said,, you are dead! yes I stoped moving, in the mids of all this , I dident tell you all that we have a dog,, well my girlfreind said sick-em ginger and the dog bit the other cop! I know, not to smart, but they did forsfully and without asking me or giveme a chance to open the door kicked it in and now i have to repair the door frame.at the end they said we did not kick your door in,,, well my son saw them do it as so did I.. and I also did not tell you , but my wif has a lot of mentall problems on going that she is working on and I did mention that to the cops before this all happend..she is also permenatly disable.I think that theycould have just walked away.. and let it go but there egos,,,.....do you think we need a lawyer?ps,,, live in monroe township,nj

I was questioning if you were really a roofer or not, but now after reading this story, there is no doubt that you my friend, are a true roofer......

though, I have never had any police problems, I too am a roofer, but you added to the stereotypical roofer. So you are more of a roofer than me.

yes get a lawyer, for nothing other than to protect yourself, not to get them. You can't beat the Man.

Sounds like quite a night your family had. I am sorry for your roofers luck
Definatly get a lawyer what they did is concidered forcible entry. Think about it did they read her her rights. When they pulled her over did they have their lights on? These are all important things. Good Luck to you and your family.

you must do your best to leave the problems at home when you go to the roof.

it always gets worst before it gets better.

Sorry to hear about your incident, bad deal for you and your girlfriend (wife).

What did the police arrest you on? If you didn't let the police in by verbally saying, "yes come in" they need a search warrant to legally enter the property. I've hear of meth busts in the town I used to live in with gung ho cops who forgot to get a search warrant and the meth bust was totally in vain, the cops found meth and production but the cases were thrown out due since there wasn't a search warrant.

Your situation sounds like cops that were caught up in the moment, like most cops while on high speed pursuits.

You may be able to find an attorney that will listen to what you have to say for free and he can tell you what actions can be done. I did a roof last year for a lawyer who owns his own firm and he charges $375 per hour I bet in your neck of the woods it's even higher!

A couple years ago my friend was driving back from the bar with his girlfriend and was spotted by a cop. When the cop knocked on the door the keys were in the house and he still got a DUI. Then a year later the same friend who claims only had two drinks flipped his Harley on a huge pot hole, broke his collar bone and was knocked out and refused a blood test lost his license for 15 months and he got to keep his bike but spent $2,500 on legal help!!!
