Is the price difference between the Timberline 30 and the Timberline Ultra around $15/sq?

not really thats home depot money different when you have a pro do it. I charge bout 2500 different for a few reasons. 1 the weight of bundles are a bunch, more nails to reach the wind warranty= more labor, You must use Timber TEx or your warranty is 90 mph and yes the cost is around 15 20 more per square but it is pure labor working with them they have a weight well above 30 year shingles. I can throw 30 years around like paper ultras i cant. bout 88 a bundle vs 70. Gotta pay more labor so i have to charge more. 40 year shingles are nothing more than IR and AR nothing more i can see between them. Hope this helps.

Did you mean $25.00/sq additional? Currently I have a quote from one of the top companies in the Louisville area for $10,125. This is for a roof for a two story home with 44 squares. The quote includes the tear-off, Timberline 30 shingles, 15# felt, replace the vents, add a ridge vent for one vault that doesnt have one, 36" ice dam, remove the power vent, new flashing in all areas. Decking that needs replacement at $40/sheet. Your thoughts?
The current roof is a 3-tab, 225# GAF that is 19 years old and has served me well.

2500.00 total for the upgrade. I am by no means the least expensive person and dont want to be. It comes out to 56.81 a square extra. your at 230 a square and it is normal to do a tear off in Michigan for around 300 with 50 year shingles. GL with your roof.

Larry, in my area, that is a fair price...for you and them. Not too high, quality roofing system, good ventilation , all by quality craftsmen? I would be all over that if I were you. That is a darned good plywood price, also.

Thanks. I do have a lot of confidence in them. They appear to be a very reliable, longstanding business here in Louisville. carlonroofs.com
