i need to know what to do for the conduit running thru my roof. vent pipe flashings are easy enough to find, but these can be only slipped over the top of things. it seems a little overkill to disconnect the service entrance and weatherhead just to put on a boot. ive called around and about the only advice i can get is to somehow split a regular vent boot and recaulk it back. this doesnt seem right to me just for the fact that caulk itsnt referred to as dependable. ive looked at masterflash and dektite but both are for metal roofing and was even told that the base was to small for shingles. it seems to me that there ought to be some kind of split boot sold for just the occasion and easy to find. when i look around and see other houses with the same thing(4 to 12/12 pitch and shingles plus service entrance going thru roof) i know im not the only one and i cant beleive everybody splits and reglues these boots...but if so can someone advise me in detail as to how to do it right, because to me it just looks like a good place for a leak.

you either reconnect or you have to cut it just make sure the cut is on the front of the jack
have you consider torching a little torch flashing to match the shingle?
if you dont like any of this ideas hire a sheet metal guy to go solder the flashing on site.

Unless it is not round you dont have to caulk it when nothing is obsructing the install of the flashing. If it is round they make it from 1 inch to 4 inch just match you conduit to the sizes and make sure to install the flashing properly and you will be ok. If this is new install your fine if you have wires hooked up already then you have to cut the boot.

Portals Plus makes a retrofit pipe boot that I use on all of my electrical weatherhead pipes without cuttin off service. It slips around the pipe and screws together. It fits pipes fron one inch to five inches.
