I had a beautiful diamond shingle roof installed on my home in 1995.\015\012A recent hurricane damaged some of the shingles.\015\012My roofing contractor says diamond shingles aren't made anymore.\015\012A check with suppliers in South Louisiana showed they aren't available here.\015\012My insurance adjuster says he has seen lots of diamond shingle roofs in Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Montana, etc.\015\012Does anybody know where I can find diamond asphalt or fiberglass shingles??\015\012Thanks

Chuck - Sounds to me that your shingle was what was known as a Klip-Lok, or French Method, shingle made by Globe Industries of Indiana. Unfortunately, they went out of business a year ago last April.\015\012P.S. to Brent - I wasn't aware that Atlas had a diamond shaped shingle. Even though the Klip-Lok was referred to as a 'diamond-shaped' shingle, it was actually a hex shape. It did have a copper staple installed at the bottom of each shingle. I am still holding out hope against hope that some company (Certaineed, GAF, etc.) will buy the plant equipment and start making this shingle again. It was a great seller and is an excellent shingle for windy locations, although here in Western NY we don't have to contend with hurricanes!

if you cant find any of those at you local distributors you can buy some rolled roofing and cut your own.the material isint as good as the clip locks but in a pinch it kinda would have to do if you dont want to replace the whole roof\015\012(ive had to do this on red clip lock roofs because the color was discontinued some years ago)

If you're interested in an aluminum diamond shingle, Classic Products, Inc. manufactures a very attractive one. Check it out at www.classicroof.com. It's called Victorian Diamonite, and it will far outlast and asphalt or fiberglass diamond shingle.

Most roofers dont know the difference between organic and fiberglass, have not been around long enough. Last i checked Custom lock 25 are organic.
