i would roughly estimate that down here there are like 90% of roofers who are not 100% sure on how to do a foam roof repair, and i hate to admit it but i am in that percentage,i,ve gone to see foam roofs with bubbles on them and i found it very hard to trace the leak source, i had suggestions as to either use some vulkem silicone,or to dig out a small hole and spray some of that "great stuff" i think it is , from home depot that also expands like foam,i worked with the foam crew a few years back and if they were going to do any patching they first had to cut the exposed foam(wich turn yellowish) and then spray the patch directly to the soft foam inside.unfortunately on leak repair calls i dont have all that foam spraying equipment.
so guys my questions are:
1) How the heck do you trace the leak on a foam roof?
2) What is the best possible way to patch it?
3) What is a naked girl picture doing in a roofing forum?[/b]

Draw a perimeter around the area that you feel that moisture has penetrated between the lifts or layers. Begin by cutting into that area and remove each lift(layer of foam). Take this down to the deck if needed. You will be able to tear if off easier where water has penetrated because it will delaminate between the lifts. Once you have the area removed you will have to spray the area with more foam and then a protective coating. Dow Corning in Atlanta GA would be a good place to call. I used to be an inspector for Dow Corning up north. They make the silicone coating that coats the foam. They can hook you up with the engineering firm in the south that does the inspections down south. They possibly can send you some repair material that was amazing. They do not sell it through any distributor. Just their engineering firms have access to it. I used to use it to fill core sample holes. Good luck,
Master
