for roofing estimating:
measuring wheel or tape measure, paper, pencil, calculator, truck, ladder.

then all the necessary equipment to install whatever you sell.

to get work lined up you need to go out there and sell it first .

i started a year ago and ive had ups and downs and still hanging by a tread, i never imagine the amount of $$$ you need to invest to make money, and be prepare to loose a pound or too around the waist , its been hard but the old timers here have said the same thing it gets worst before it gets better.

i had to learn from my own mistakes. But i also tasted the fruit of my work when i get my final payment with a referral attached to it.

Good luck and god bless

QRFL, I can't believe you didn't say "G-Tape"?!?!?!

I am upset now.

jackofalltrades, I wouldn't recommend roofing as a business startup, try something else. This is a horrible time to start one. Go the home improvement avenue if anything, roofing is just too hard right now. You will have to deal with lowbidders, insurance companies, poor workers, cheap customers, the list goes on and on.

If you do start one, make sure you use G-Tape.

ok just one post...Gtape, a ladder, a truck, a ladder rack, a hammer, pride's super bar, a knife, a pouch, a hook blade, a tape measure, a piece of paper and a pen.

Did I miss anything? Oh yeah....about fifteen years' roofing experience.

Thank you for serving for us, tell all of your comrades the same from me and my family.
